What American Idol and the US Electoral Process Have in common?

Funny story written by Panndyra

Absolutely nothing.

In the past four years, this administration has done nothing to overhaul the electoral process. Perhaps, it's because they know if they do, the current regime has no chance in Satan-less hell of moving on to a second term.

American Idol in one season has listened to the populace. They have heard us cry foul and listened. Yes, they've listened.

When Jennifer Hudson was ousted, they told us to vote OFTEN. We had to vote to keep our American Idols on the show. It was our responsibility. We were allowed the opportunity to vote and vote often.

In the US, we still get to vote only once and that doesn't seem to count for much unless you're in FLORIDA.

When LaToya got booted, we were reminded again that AMERICAN IDOL IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST and to vote for talent and NOT who we just like better.

Election ads try to get us to turn on one candidate at the other's expense. That's worse than when parents get divorced and use their children as pawns. This is a two-party dysfunctional family.

When people complained about the unavailability of the lines for voting, they fixed it. The finale had three lines each for Diana and Fantasia. I was able to get through more than once. So could other people if they so chose.

We don't even have internet voting options or phone voting. It's ridiculous.

I think that America, as a nation, can learn a lot from American Idol, as a reality TV show.

There, I've said it. Keep the nasty emails coming.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
