You know, there is an advertising slogan so illogical and frustrating that I cannot and will not allow it to go uncritiqued anymore (I have been losing sleep over this). It is for a certain chain of restaurants here in America (maybe started abroad).
The restaurant is Outback Steakhouse and it's slogan is — No Rules, Just Right.
Just how can something be deemed as right (or potentially wrong) without some sort of standard (rules) in which to judge it against? Is this what our post-modernist society has come to?
Anyway, I have come up with some other slogans along this line that Outback Steakhouse could possibly use as well:
- No Staff, Great Service.
- No Chef, Great Food.
- No Food, Tastes Great.
- No Restaurants, Great Location.
- No Brains, Great Slogan.
Anywho, I wanted to know if anyone else out there knew of a stupid advertising slogan that haunted them as much as this one did me...
(Alright, chain-gang to the Discussion Forum... toot toot.)
