A boarding house situated in Blackpool has been charged with false advertising. Their slogan ‘pull off into paradise' has been targeted by the police because of its misleading nature. One policeman said ‘this catchphrase suggests that the boarding house is actually liveable when in fact the reality is the opposite'.
The boarding house in question, which can't be named for legal reasons, is very much the reverse of paradise. Infested with midgets, lice and convicts the building lies a stones throw away from the beach. The owners have tried in vein to pretty it up with the odd fairy light, sparkling silver sticky back plastic and air freshener. Its main problem lies in the fact that half the roof is missing and the stink of its sewage works next door neighbour.
When asked why they purchased such a monstrosity the owners, Bob and Babs, said ‘we honestly didn't think the sewage works would be a problem, if anything we thought it would be quirky selling point'. Indeed.
Although all of the above is enough to turn anyone's stomach, the boarding house ‘Caesars Palace' is often fully booked through the summer months; the disappointment smacks guests in the face on arrival. Although the slogan may be inaccurate Bob and Babs do have brochures with true to life pictures of the residence in them, but the thicks keep turning up.
