Sesame Scandal: In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Bert Engelstein and Ernie Salvatore (aka Bert & Ernie) reveal that they are in fact NOT gay.
Ernie said he and nearby neighbor, Grover had taken the vow of celibacy years ago. Bert also denies claims of homosexuality but concedes he has what he calls "leanings" to gay lifestyle including a love of rainbows and the music of Bette Midler and says he is a big fan of the LOGO cable channel.
Oscar Walsh (aka "Oscar the Grouch") meanwhile has just come of the closet (or can) revealing he has been gay all his life. Go figure.
