But today's official launch of a revamped blondish Cheryl Cole is nothing more than a £500 hairpiece stunt.
"Looks like a rehashed Gerry Halliwell bob," Dave Z Skank, London editor of celebwatch site LA FagHagSlagMag, said today.
"A pity, because Chezza'a a natural beehive kinda gal straight out of the black tights/white stilettos finishing school that gave us er, stuff."
The singer was caught on camera this morning on her 28th birthday sporting the highlights/lowlights lowlife look complete with leatherette biker's jacket, drainpipe jeans and lace-up pixie boots.
"A zoom lens inspection of the new hairdo shows suspicious wiglike clues around the hairline by her ears," Skank added.
"Somewhere in hair extension salonland is a six foot pile of discarded fake tresses and bits of glued together scalp follicles.
"Probably had to have her head shaved - like Britney after that LA hotel bedbugs scare!
