It's Cold Outside...

White faced seventies electro pop sensation, Gary Numan, out of Tubeway Army, best known for his 1979 hit single 'Are Friends Electric,' has announced that he will be forming a pub quiz team down his West Sussex local, the Android Ploughman, somewhere near Chichester, apparently. Full menu available from noon until nine pm and with a fine selection of real ales, including a 'guest' beer of the week. Cheap.

Numan, whose face is apparently no longer a ghostly white, like it was back in his heyday, has told friends that he needs a diversion from making electronic pop music, and indulging his passion for aviation, so has decided to diversify and form the pub quiz team.

"I just felt like the time was right to form a pub quiz team," Newman commented. "It isn't an area I've dabbled in before, so I decided to take the bull by the hooves and really push the boat in. I'm pretty knowledgable about music, and I'm not bad on aviation either. We've got one chap who specialises in sports questions, a librarian who does all the books and films and stuff, and a retired explorer who's dead good at geography. I reckon we'll be a force to be reckoned with in the local quiz league. It'd be dead good if we could get on that satellite channel on 'Compete For The Meat' with Pub Landlord, Al Murray."

This won't be the first time that Numan has diversified - it is a matter of record that he once went go-kart racing at Butlins at Bognor, but nothing on a scale comparable with the posited pub quiz team.

He did, however, flatly refuse to respond to questions about his 1970's pasty faced, almost vampiric appearance, other than revealing that it was makeup, or about his aloof, androgynous persona.

"That was all a long time ago," a bodyguard informed us. "And in any case, it's none of your business, so fuck off."

More as we get it.
