image for Nelson Family Survivors Reveal "Ozzie and Harriet" Was First Television Reality Show
How come they didn't have an annoying announcer like Ryan Seacrest?

David Nelson, the last surviving family member from the long running "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," died in January. His family has now revealed that the show was not scripted at all, regardless of writing credits, and was truly the first "reality show" on television.

A family spokesman, who asked to remain anonymous but is really Gracie Johnson, said that "when Harriet demanded one of those new fangled dishwashers for the house, it wasn't for the set and wasn't lines she had memorized, the woman wanted a dishwasher! When Ricky accidentally knocked out David's teeth, he really knocked out David's teeth. When Ozzie said something smart or offered some sage wisdom to his family… well, okay, that part was scripted."

The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet ran on television for fourteen years (1952 to 1966) and 435 episodes, making it one of the longest running comedy shows of all times. Now, however, the show is being reclassed as "The Longest Running Reality Show Of All Time." "They were on longer than The Amazing Race or American Idol or Survivor. They were the ones that broke the barriers and set the standards."

Paris Hilton and her mother and sister have now set a goal of having a situation comedy/reality show that runs longer than the Nelson family. Unfortunately for them, no one will want to see a tart like Paris when she's in her 40′s or Nikki's sagging boobs. Also, no network) appears ready or eager to sign the Hiltons to a long term contract.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
