As excitement mounts in anticipation of the new series of Doctor Who this evening, fans fear the show will be missing a vital element.
Sidekick Amy Pond's legs.
The leggy redhead's pins have become a feature of the time-travelling adventures. But news has emerged that they won't be on show tonight.
As the opening episodes were shot in the Utah desert, actress Karen Gillen has swapped her more customary mini-skirts for trousers.
"This is a disturbing development," said Mordecai Blastfarber of the unweildly-named-and-apostrophed Dr Who's Assistants' Legs' Appreciation Society.
"Let's face it, Ms Gillen's gams go all the way up and back again. They are terrific... certainly the best set of stems since Louise Jameson flashed a lot of flesh as the warrior Leela, back in Tom Baker's days.
"I understand they will be back, clad in pink tights - which sounds like fun - later. But for now it looks like we're going to be disappointed."
