It can be revealed what the future of the Queen Vic pub in Albert Square on the BBC's long running soap opera, Eastenders, holds.
Although the BBC hope that the current Queen of England, Elizabeth Windsor, reigns for many a year yet to come, they know that one day she will pop her Louis Vuitton clogs. On the day that this happens, the Queen Vic will be renamed the Queen Liz in her honour.
"To be precise," said the show's producer, Carrie Nation, "it will be called The Queen Elizabeth. However, to keep up with the shows traditions, everybody will refer to it as the Queen Liz."
Barbara Windsor, who played Peggy Mitchell for many a year, shares a surname with the Queen and once commented on Miss Slocomb's pussy, is quite excited by the news.
"It's fantastic isn't?" she enthused with a high pitched squeak. "I might have to come back for that one. I know I said I never would, but that would be some episode, wouldn't it?"
The Queen, who has visited the Queen Vic, has been told of the BBCs plans, but as usual has remained tight lipped.
"Secretly, I think the Queen is quite pleased," said palace insider, Ian Cider. "Although nothing was mentioned, over the midmorning snack of roast swan and hazelnut she did mention it in passing, saying they could name a pub after her over her dead body. I think this is the royal seal of approval, don't you?"
