Miranda Hart's success at the British Comedy Awards at the weekend has left producers completely baffled.
Hart picked up three awards for her show Miranda - Best Comedy Actress, Best New TV Comedy and The People's Choice Award.
The show, which has been picked up for a third series, was regularly watched by more than four million viewers in its 9pm BBC2 slot. The third series could be moved to the more popular BBC1.
But comedy chiefs can't understand what they have.
An insider told us: "There's a bunch of comedy producers walking round in a daze at the BBC. They just don't get it.
"Miranda is too simple for them, you see. There are no dysfunctional families, no angsty teenagers, no swearing... just a bit of silliness and some occasional slapstick. It just shouldn't work.
"But it succeeds, so they have to run with it.
"Bosses have planned a series of workshops and seminars over the next few weeks aimed at helping producers understand what comedy is."
