Piers Morgan is said to be extremely excited about his new job, replacing icon Larry King, who's stepping down after 25 years at the helm.
When interviewed recently he admitted to one disappointment as he begins his new career,
"I AM obviously thrilled to have been presented with the 'challenge' of replacing Larry King. His is a 'household name' in America. My only disappointment at present is that I truly wanted Susan Boyle to be my first interviewee as we have a great relationship and she has a HUGE following, especially in America.
Having Susan on my show would have had the ratings shooting through the roof. As it is, I've had to settle for Oprah, which won't be as much fun.
Susan told me that she'd love to be on the show, but the timing is bad. Pebbles her cat is sick, and needs her. Also, she is decorating her new home in Blackburn and wishes to keep an eye on the decorators, Steve and Chris.
She has promised to appear on 'my' show in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile, I'll have to make do with Oprah and try to stay 'upbeat' - after all, it IS my FIRST show of what I hope to be MANY."
We will be following the success (or not) of Piersy Baby, as he begins his new adventure.
