Fans of top TV science totty, Alice Roberts, are holding their breath as their dream of seeing her au naturel appears to have a chance of being realised.
As we reported, ooh, ages ago (it was August 26 - ed) the Coast presenter's admirers were disappointed when she failed to reveal herself in a programme about wild swimming, although she indulged in a skinny dip during the documentary.
But fan club chair, Bernard Frot, has been busy trying to make his members' dream come true.
He told us: "I am not without influence in the TV industry and I have been having top-level talks with production staff on a popular police procedural, as we insiders call it.
"After some considerable effort, I have managed to persuade them to offer Alice a role.
"Obviously, Dr Roberts is a very clever woman but we have no idea if she can act. So the role is non-speaking - in fact she would be the cadaver on a post-mortem examination table.
"As she's an anatomist we feel she'll jump at the chance.
"I am not at liberty to say which show until we have heard whether Alice is interested - but like all her fans, I feel this is a great opportunity. We can't wait!"
