In order to protect the rights of the actors who do not possess so pleasant physical attributes, Danny DeVito and friends organized recently the "NOT TALL, NOT DARK, NOT HANDSOME SCREEN ACTORS GUILD" (NTNDNH-SAG) in Los Angeles, California.
Members include Tommy Lee Jones (acne-scarred face), Cris Rock (teeny-weeny voice), Mickey Rooney (short, like DeVito), Willem Dafoe (horrible, wrinkled face), Linda Hunt (diminutive gnome-like appearance), Joan Cusack (elongated chin)
Goals of the group include the right of the ugly actors to roles given to thespians with pleasant physical attributes but the said roles do not really require physical beauty. Another purpose is to give self-confidence seminars to budding ugly actors and then another would be to build up a fund for retired, ugly actors who live on the gutter.
"I have seen the beauty of this group and its honorable goals. What they have inside them are beautiful hearts willing to share whatever limited gifts they have to their fellow acne-scared or height-starved colleagues," said Joan Cusack, with tears rolling down her elongated chin.
