HOLLYWOOD - In a move that shocked quite a lot of Dancing With The Stars viewers, Bristol Palin managed to hang on by the skin of her Alaskan teeth as Florence Henderson, aka Mrs. Brady on the old Brady Bunch sit-com was eliminated.
Young Palin, who celebrated her 20th birthday on Monday, was able to pull in enough votes to make it to next week. Her dance partner Mark "The Magic Man" Ballas was to put it mildly quite shocked.
Mark did see his dad, Corky "The Dashing Smiler" Ballas, eliminated along with his partner Henderson.
Jennifer "The Attitude" Grey was quite visibly upset. She was asked for a comment backstage and she replied that she felt certain that Bristol was going to be the one going home especially since Florence had danced rings around her.
Bristol was interviewed backstage and she said that she was shocked and actually said that she truly expected to be sent home since she did manage to forget about one-fifth of her dance steps and half the lyrics.
Bristol's mom, Sarah "Snowflake" Palin, was reportedly in Walla Walla, Washington giving a speech to the Walla Walla Tea Bag Party. When told that her daughter had not been eliminated Mrs. Palin smiled and said that it's a sign that the Palin's have a tremendous amount of support from the American people.
The ex-Alaskan governor added that the fact that the people of America are voting to keep Bristy on the show just shows that she (the elder Palin) has a tremendous chance of winning the 2012 presidential election.
SIDENOTE: The Colombian fire-cracking singer/belly dancer Shakira performed her hit song "Loca" live. Carrie Ann Inaba said that she overheard Bruno Tonioli telling Len Goodman that if he was not gay he would like to kiss Shakira's hips until the cows came home...which is usually around 7:30 p.m.
