According to a number of tabloids and confirmed by the Twilight actor himself, Chaske Spencer, who plays "The Leader of the Pack" of werewolves Sam Ulrey, is bringing all his battles with alcohol and drugs out into the open.

Spencer says that he wanted to open up so he might help other kids and keep them from making mistakes he made at their age, that nearly cost him his life.

"After taking my first drink early in my teens while I was growing up on different reservations", stated the Native American, "I got drunk very easily so I got hooked fast. Then came the drugs and before you know it, even though my acting career got off to a great start, I was spending 90% of it for my habits."

Spencer stated that his family had broken up and he wound up in New York and that, at that time, he was a very angry individual. Spencer said he finally got busted and that it was the best thing that could have happened to him, as he was sent to a special rehab for Native Americans.

Apparently seeing what a mess others were in, finally got through to him.

"I had been clean for over a year when I landed on "Twilight: New Moon". But instead of hiding everything, I told my new friends about my addiction and that I could not have one drink."

Apparently Spencer's parents, Bad Medicine and Staggering Heifer have never gotten back together.

Does he have an Indian name, a reporter asked.

"Yes, Pony Baloney", he joked.

"Actually, my new friends at Twilight and United Global, a charity that works with Native Americans, are my family now."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
