The original Hello Kitty vinyl coin purse first introduced to America by the Japanese Company, Yo Peu Sei, has come a long way. Hello Kitty is one of the most recognized characters marketed for children today--from Hello Kitty dolls to lunch boxes to bedside lamps. There are even Hello Kitty guns and various other weaponry.
But none of those items remotely compare to the most bizarre Hello Kitty item to hit the internet-the Hello Kitty Crotch Belt. Made famous just last week by Lady Gaga, the crotch belt is being snatched (no pun intended) up as quickly as it goes online.
What exactly does a crotch belt look like you ask? Well, the main component is a furry Hello Kitty face that is attached on each end to a large gold chain. An over-sized tassle, not unlike those worn by burlesque dancers in days gone by, dangles from the bottom of the Kitty head.
While Gaga refers to this piece of fashion as her Hello Kitty panties, it is nonetheless selling as a crotch belt. Since the success of the crotch belt, designers are already working on a winter fashion item called the Hello Kitty muff. Not to be confused with the crotch belt, the Muff will actually cover the hands.
