The untimely death of ex Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable has lifted the lid off his past career. The drummer most noted for his time with the Stereophonics died recently following a huge piss up in his home town.
Cable, the little known brother of the Lib Dem MP Vince Cable was 40 when he died. An accomplished drummer some may find it hard to believe his talents extended further than bashing his snare!
At the tender age of just 8 Stuart invented and patented the Cable Tie. He invented the self locking plastic device to keep his flared jeans from catching in his bicycle chain on the way to school. He later saw the many uses it offered and made a small fortune from his invention.
He is also rumoured to have started the cable TV revolution as early as the 70's however without financial backing he was only able to connect his street to his own TV station, Cable TV which by the way still broadcasts Captain Pugwash repeats to 24 Welsh homes. Pugwash was Cable's favourite TV show when he was a kid.
Stuart's entrepreneurial streak probably came from his Grandfather who in the early 1980's joined forces with Mr Wireless to start their own company called Cable & Wireless.
Possibly the least known fact about Stuart is his passion for comics especially the X-Men. He was such a fan that he became friends with non other than Stan Lee himself who later based the character 'Cable' on Stuart.
RIP Stuart Cable.
