CHICAGO - In a move unprecedented in the history of online satire sensation TheSpoof.com, one of its writers has challenged another to a duel in front of Buckingham Fountain on Chicago's lakefront, due to the unspeakable offense of story title-stealing.
It is alleged that writer Tragic Rabbit, with brass balls and malice aforethought, brazenly used a title for one of his satire pieces that already had been appropriated by fellow writer, local weirdo Geneva Slim.
Mr. Rabbit, of Beatrix Potter, PA, today acknowledged the challenge, which is scheduled for June 14th, including Ms. Slim's magnanimous gesture that Mr. Rabbit use the weapon of his choosing - epee, shotgun or hand-grenade.
Ms. Slim attended the University of Texas at Austin on a dual fencing/long-gun marksmanship scholarship, and also served her country in Operation Desert Wahoo as a Captain in the U.S. Army's vaunted Grenade Brigade.
Mr. Rabbit's background could not ascertained at the press time, but likely is specious.
TheSpoof.com editor Park Bowdown has issued a statement wishing good luck to all, especially Mr. Rabbit, who was last seen hippity-hopping toward the Lufthansa gate at Kennedy International Airport.
