News today was that there is the possibility of a completely new Wizard of Oz that follows the original in story form, but in quite a different setting.
For one thing, the "Kansas" scenes will still be in black & white but once Dorothy gets to Oz, the colorful 3D effect comes in!
Also, the strangely familiar "Witch" is a flashy singer being played by Adam Lambert. Instead of poison apples, Adams uses his spells to work his evil.
"I think I'll love it if we get the backing", Lambert told a source. "You see, I have a split personality and sometimes I'm the good witch with some smooth songs and lyrics but then the bad witch takes over and does it get wild after that."
Sorry, no flying monkeys this time, but the animated creatures will throw you back into your theater seat.
This is a little darker version according to Dakota. "They have some great dancers for the scarecrow, tin man and cowardly lion."
Also said to be possibilities for different roles are Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne.
The music will all be original.
