Vanessa Hudgens today laughed off reports that her boyfriend, High School Musical star Zac Efron, would be playing the part of Flash Gordon in an upcoming movie.
"I don't know how this crazy rumor got started," Miss Hudgens told us. "But there really is no truth in it. As far as I know, Zac isn't even aware that there is a Flash Gordon movie in pre-production. He certainly hasn't been approached and he hasn't mentioned reading a script. Who the heck is Flash Gordon anyway?"
Moments later, Zac Efron, the man himself came out and told us that he hadn't been approached by anybody with a view to playing Flash Gordon in a movie. So with nothing much else to discuss, we asked Zac if there were any movie roles which would attract his interest?
"I'm a little tired of always being the good guy," he told us. "So it'd be kinda cool to play a real hardcore bad ass movie villain, like Hannibal Lecter, or Crazy Jack 'The Mad Axeman' Torrance, in The Shining. Hell, I wouldn't even mind playing Cruella DeVille, but I guess I'd have to shoot that one in drag..."
No Zac, we really don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.
