Filmed in advance on the extensive acreage of the Nugent farm and permanent hunt club, the 2009 Motown Christmas Special will feature some of Motown's hottest talent against the snowy backdrop of Nugent's personal forest.
Though production challenges haunted the producer and crew, the music carried a special quality while light snow fell as if on cue during much of the recording. Some songs were interrupted however as white tailed deer wandered across the open field near Nugent's home. Both Nugent and Kid Rock who were carrying 50 caliber sniper rifles with them, engaged the four legged sources of protein with a barrage of automatic fire.
Nugent was reported to comment, "Well we didn't get to kill anything, but we sure thinned out a few trees".
Nugent added his own version of, "I'm Dreaming of a White Tail on a Buck Pole", to the song catalog, while Kid Rock performed "My Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire", which was thankfully cut from the final production.
The Motown, Nuge, Kid Rock Special runs this weekend on the Women's Entertainment Cable Network.
