Susan Boyle's eBay auction of her virginity has got off to a poor start with only one bid of 1p submitted in the two days it has been running. The high bidder placed their bid shortly after the last episode of "Britain's got Talent".
The singer is said to be disappointed with the poor response but was quite philosophical.
"It's early days yet, mind you I said the same when I was 21 and hadn't got a shag yet" she told the beautician responsible for her daily eyebrow trim.
Although only one person has bid on the item, 40 million people are said to be watching, so with 4 days to go some heated late bidding is expected.
One ebayer, scowell9876 has posted a question about the item's condition and asked if there is a buy it now price. In true ebay spirit the item is described as unused with only a few marks and wrinkles commensurate with age and poor storage, and the listing contains the usual cautions that "you are bidding to buy, not to come and look" and "bids from overseas buyers or those with less than 5 positive feedback will be removed".
LATE NEWS: At the time of going to press the only bid has been retracted, the bidder having discovered that Susan would be singing that bloody awful song from the musical "Cats" as her cherry popped.
