A shocking new book is out about Merv Griffin that very definitely reaches the conclusion that the beloved pianist, Liberace with the beautiful smile and kind voice of every mother's dream, was in fact, gay.
This new book reportedly details the incredibly active - but very secret - love life of the multi-talented, oft on television with his entertainment par excellence, Mr. Merv Griffin, who was determined to stay in the closet to preserve his own clean-cut image.
While Merv the Perv, as he was known around Hollywood, was having his way, apparently with Rock Hudson, James Dean, Buffalo Bob, Margaret Rutherford, Charley Weaver, Lamb Chop, Agnes Moorehead, Marlon Brando, James Dean again, Roddy McDowell and both Bert AND Ernie or so the book's author alleges, he was also on the lookout for someone special.
Many are asking, but why pick out a shy lad like Liberace?
"Merv was after the innocent ones especially", states one old friend of the Quiz Show Millionaire. "And, there was Liberace playing a piano to friends in the lounge of the Diamondhead Hotel and innocently accepting an invitation to "come upstairs and see what an upright..un..piano I have up there."
"No one knows what masterpieces Liberace would have produced with his genius performing on the piano. I mean, of course, songs", stated an old auntie of Liberace. "He took to it like a duck to water."
While the book is supposed to dwell mostly on Mr. Merv Griffin, most people will remember it always as the shock, the gut-wrenching flap, of discovering that our fair-haired boy...Liberace...was made gay by this villain.
