Bangor, Maine - Best-selling author Stephen King is the latest big name to be drafted into the Spoof coalition of writers tasked with producing BuckwheatsButt's Star Trek Spoof extravaganza, championed by the legendary Jalapenoman.
King, who has been somewhat reclusive following a near fatal auto accident some years ago was reported by wife Tabatha to be 'reinvigorated' by the prospect of working with relatively unknown talent.
The horror-meister will act as Creative Director on the project and will liaise closely with Buck and the J-man to ensure that the plot doesn't become overly convoluted, and that contributors adhere to a framework and refrain from shooting off on tangential trajectories.
King told us:
"I'm really looking forward to this. It's kind of exciting. I've collaborated on novels in the past, but the scope of this project dwarfs anything within my experience. I've already spoken to Rob Reiner about the movie version and he assures me that he'll put other projects on hold in order to get this one up and running. I'm all locked and loaded and ready to go."
Stephen Kings Laundry List Will Be published next week by Collins and Dutton Inc.
More as we get it.
