Leaked news from Hollywood Ca suggests that teen queens Hudgens and Lohan are to star in a remake of classic 70's TV cop show Cagney and Lacey.
The original, which starred Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly as streetwise New York cops scooped awards by the sackload, so producers thought that the concept would provide the perfect vehicle for Hudgens and Lohan.
"Of course we'll have to make the bad guys a little less menacing in order to retain some semblence of credibility," a Hollywood mole told us. "And we'll have some musical numbers thrown in there but basically we intend to retain the spirit of the original show. There'll be romance, tears, broken hearts and a lot of close ups. And singing and dancing."
Zac Efron has been earmarked to portray Hudgens' long suffering husband Harvey.
In other news, rumour has it that Miley Cyrus is to play the psychotic female lead in a musical version of oscar winning horror flick Misery. Rob Pattinson is said to be interested in playing the James Caan role, as long as the producers put in some fantasy dance sequences.
More as we get it.
