DreamMovies Pictures in association with KeyGrip films has announced Shia Lebouf is set to star in an upcoming action film based on a series of popular children's toys. Movies about toys are the latest craze sweeping Hollywood.
Producer Jerry Goldenstein says: "Right now we are working with the owners of the popular stick and box franchise's to hammer out a rough script. Every kid played with sticks! And most of the time, the box was more entertaining than the toy. So this movie has a huge built in audience."
There is a new updated version of each toy in the works with licensing deals already in place with fast food chains and gas stations. Already classic versions of the toys are being snatched up in yards and garage sales around the country, in anticipation of the film.
Shia has really jumped into this role, even bringing his own stick and a favorite box to the producers meeting. He is really behind this project. He jumped out of the box, going on about "pow! pow! pheeew! Fight! On-guard ha! Ha! It's wonderful to see an actor of his caliber so involved.
