30 year old IT worker Greg Harlem sparked outrage when he revealed that he was not actually Nelsons Column and had been posing as the London based statue online for some time.
The website that listed Nelsons favorite films and songs had racked up hundreds of 'Friends' and dedicated fans who were distraught to here it was a Hoax.
Mr. Harlem said in his defense that he couldn't believe anyone thought that any statue was capable of using the Internet.
Its is not known whether Nelsons Column will take any legal action as it has been so far unavailable for comment.
