Those thinking of stand up comedy should note the recent plight of Rotherham based Sales Consultant, Kevin Ottwell who for years has been the office comedian.
Otwells boss said 'Kevin was a naturally funny person, his one liners, comedy falls and Frank Spencer impressions had us in hysterics.'
Another of Kevin's colleagues said 'he would bring the office to a standstill when he shouted his catchphrase paper cut. We would be giggling for the remainder of the day.
'We felt he should try the professional comedy circuit and shortly after, Kevin resigned from his job and applied for the Edinburgh festival.'
Unfortunately, Kevin's dreams became the stuff of nightmares as his act was savaged by critics stating in unison that he simply 'not funny'.
A tearful Kevin said 'in the office, I could say anything and everyone would be in fits of laughter but at the festival they were a tougher crowd. I have returned to my job and will continue to play the office joker, they appreciate my humour plus I have some new material to try out.
