Burbank, California - American skipped a collective heartbeat when Marie Osmond suddenly collapsed after her dancing performance on this week ABC's hit show, Dancing With the Stars. In a press release today, Osmond attempted to ease everyone's concerns assuring that she is all right and attributed her fainting spell on all the smoke generated by the recent rash of California wildfires. However, others believe a more sinister culprit is to blame.

"She fainted because she got a contact buzz from all the marijuana that was burned up in the wildfires," said Osmond's manager. "She has never come into contact with the intoxicating cannabis before. And this week, due to all the wildfires, the air was filled with it."

Primarily concert-goers while in attendance of a public venue where Rock 'N' Roll is being played experience the phenomenon known as the "contact buzz".

The use of the intoxicating cannabis by others at the fair, usually by the musicians themselves, permeates through the air, often forming a thick fogbank that hovers over the audience throughout the performance. The intoxicating fumes of the cannabis cloud slowly buildup in the blood stream of even the most pacifist of those in attendance, resulting in collective buzz experienced by all who come into contact with it.

"You would expect that being a musician that she would have developed an immunity to having ingested such a small quality of the intoxicating cannabis," said a production assistant on the set of Dancing With the Stars. "But then again, I guess there's not too many who light up at a Donny and Marie Osmond concert."

Authorities confirm that ever since the state of California legalized marijuana a number of years ago for the use medicinal use only, many unlicensed pharmacist have popped up throughout the state growing the medicine on pot farms in the wilderness, desperately attempting to keep up with demand.

Although the controversial law contradicts Federal law, local law enforcement is reluctant to make arrests citing the increase in the number of wildfire fighter volunteers each season.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
