Qatar - (Confectionery Mess): Just in time for the end of Ramadan and the beginning of five days' Eid Al Fitr feasting, Al-Jazeera TV has launched its very own version of the Ferrero-Rocher ad, featuring the lavish hospitality of a London dignitary believed to be the Yemeni Ambassador to the Court of St James's.
Looking slightly gaunt after completing the statutory 30 days Ramadan fasting the Ambassador is seen proffering a dish of traditional delicacies to his smiling party guests (see picture).
As party-goers clamour to partake of the little sweetmeats the voice-over is heard remarking: "The Ambassador's receptions are noted in society for their host's exquisite waist that captivates his guests."
The smiling, somewhat toothy and pot-bellied envoy tempts his guests with the delectable bon-bons as traditional souk-inspired music plays in the background.
Suddenly from the crowd an anonymous, exquisitely veiled and bejeweled lady emerges, avidly plucking the candy from the tray:
"Oh Mr Ambassador with these Ferrero-Rocher you are really spoiling us!" she trills as a thousand fireworks are seen festooning the backlit night sky with their iridescent festive bursts.
Upmarket merchandising has finally arrived in Arabia!
