If FOX network has it's way the next President of the United States will be chosen not by the American people but by Simon, Paula, Randy and Olivia Newton John. FOX says,

"It's a concept still on the drawing board even though we DID test the concept by having several presidential candidates audition live before the American Idol judges with Simon in one instance asking",

SIMON:
So Mrs Clinton, what are you going to perform for us?

HILLARY:

American Idol, biggest spectacle since the Big Bang will, given Congressional approval pick America's next president. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she has no issues with the Idol judges doing that instead of the American people citing .. case in point, the American people's LAST choice.

Paula Abdul, sometimes there sometimes not promised to get off the bottle, the needle, bong and pipe too if Idol got THIS gig. Paula told reporters,

"Being a woman I'm kind of partial to Hilary, sorry Obama but when judging I'll try to be fair and balanced unlike Simon. Simon hates everyone except Clay Aiken but that's another story best left to be told by Simon and Clay."

Presidential hopeful Senator John Edwards, not particularly known for his wit, acumen, creativity or sub-atomic quantum string theories also auditioned for FOX'S "on the drawing board" concept show saying,

"Simon? For my performance I'd like to yodel the Star Spangled Banner while shoveling a pile of coal, the coal simulating our fallen coal miner comrades who in their .."

SIMON:
Paula is this tick-Simon-off day or what I'm not clear on that one.
