Singer, songwriter, Ed Sherine (no relation) has got himself / herself into hot water in Egypt after claiming the Nile is not cleaner than the Thames because hippopotamus live in the mud there and not in the Thames!
Ed even wrote a river song about it after he shaved his beard and appeared incognito on Egyptian TV wearing a Tommy Cooper Fez and pulling rabbits out of a hat called; White Rabbit. In the interim Ed or Sherine has been accused of plagiarism by Jefferson Airplane still flying high after all these years!
The Egyptian police attempted to arrest Ed Sherine but he/she disappeared under his/her Fez just in time and is now back in London singing a Madness classic live called; 'Night Boat to Cairo' followed by 'Egyptian Reggae' and as finale, 'Walk like an Egyptian' into one of their 5 star prisons if he/she ever dares put 'One step beyond' on Egyptian soil!!
Ed or Sherine has apologised to the hippopotamus fraternity residing in the Muddy Waters (I just got blues-ed on the Blue Nile) for even daring to say the Thames is cleaner than the Nile and has donated 25 million Egyptian US bucks worth a fiver to the "Save the Hippopotamus fund!" Egypt told him to fuck off to Israel where he will be most welcome as Israel do not have a river to insult, just Palestinian sewers that need cleansing now and then!
