After Zayn Malik's exit, Justin Bieber to join One-Direction

Millions of pre-teen girls were left heartbroken and teary-eyed after teen pop star Zayn Malik's hugely publicised departure from boy band One-Direction (not to mention the millions of parents who were left relieved and grateful). But the band, it seems, has been quicker to move on, than Taylor Swift after a breakup.

Within weeks of Zayn's exit, buzz has it that Harry Styles has approached Justin Bieber, most widely known for his migraine-inducing track Baby, to fill in as fifth member of the band

. As a nod to the new addition to the band, One Direction have been contemplating changing their name to Just-One Direction (Justin, get it?). However, Justin Bieber wants the band to be renamed 'This Just-In', a move that is not going down well with Directioners (That's what they call themselves; I swear, I'm not kidding!), who have widely differing opinions on what the band's new name must be. Felicity Patrick, 13, a die-hard Zayn Malik fan was quoted as saying, ''They should just call themselves Directionless and be done with it, because that is just what they are, without Zayn.''

Other fans are wondering if One Direction should now be called Two Directions. Jokes now doing the rounds on Twitter include this gem-If Zayn Malik joined Guns N Roses, what would it be called? 'Gun Direction'!'.

Other Directioners are less worried about the band's name and more about what Justin Bieber's inclusion could mean for the band. ''How can a girl be in a boy band? Isn't that, like, against the rules or something?'' says Missie James, 9, about Justin Bieber. On being told that Bieber is indeed, 'a boy', Missie just looked confused.

Justin Bieber fans, otherwise known as Beliebers (or crazy), seem to be as against the move as Directioners. This new development seems to have unified Directioners and Beliebers, who agree unanimously Justin Bieber joining One Direction will be an unmitigated disaster.

Meanwhile, parents are pulling their hair out in frustration. ''My daughter dragged me to 6 One-Direction concerts! 6! Now I have to listen to Justin Bieber too? Is there no mercy in this world?'', says Ron Thatcher, 46, father to 13 year old Kelly.

Oblivious to their fans' distress, One-Direction and Bieber have already started work on their new album Twice In A Lifetime, which will include the tracks Best Song Bieber, Steal My Baby, Story Of My Boyfriend, and What Makes You Bae, Baby.
