Mexico - A 3,000ft long, 26ft deep and 16ft wide trench that sprang up overnight between Hermosillo and the Coast has been dubbed Salma Hayek's Crack in honor of the famous Mexican actress.
Locals say the fissure opened up after the earth moved last weekend following a series of mini tremors somewhere deep below.
It is not known where dusky movie star Salma was at the time although her 1994 film El Callejón de los Milagros - Miracle Alley - was playing at a drive-in cinema nearby.
This morning hordes of tourist video drones were seen converging above the trench amid reports that weird seismic activity could be the sign of an imminent crude oil spurt.
Other possibilities include an underground aquifer bursting and/or trouble with the main sewage drain that runs from the Hermosillo area down into the sea for its weekly dump.
Of course a simpler explanation like the 10 year drought should also be considered.
The Antonio Banderas' Crater in Baja is a case in point.
