LOS ANGELES-NBC announced Monday that it is ordering six episodes of a new sitcom "Kim!" based on the crazy antics of a comedic North Korean leader.
The show, filmed before a live studio audience, will star former Seinfeld star Jason Alexander in the lead role and Wanda Sykes as his nagging wife, Ri.
The show is being touted by NBC as the cornerstone of its much-hyped summer line-up.
"It is simply hilarious - one episode focuses entirely on Kim's haircut and Jason (Alexander) pulls of a brilliant performance when he orders everyone to shave their heads!" said NBC executive Tom Harper.
An episode titled "Let's Get Nuked" - which sees Kim threaten a nuclear strike on the United States if they don't stop "double dipping" snacks into dips is already being heralded as a "comedy gold."
One episode though, in particular, is set to raise a few eyebrows - involving a scene where Ri (Sykes) demands that her sister's head be chopped off when she accidentally burns a dinner in honor of Kim.
"It is funny," said Sykes "I mean, even the execution scene is filled with laughs - I just hope no one thinks we went too far."
