TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Willie Nelson performed before a sold out crowd at The Cotton Pickin' Arena.
Afterwards he spoke with Buck Yazoo of Yippie-Ki-Yay Magazine in his fancy tour bus.
Yazoo asked Willie about the recent rumors that started up in Oklahoma about him lip syncing some of his songs during his concerts.
Nelson, who is 80, became a little perturbed at the question and said that he has been singing for 78 years, ever since he was a wee boy of 2, and in that time he has never once lip synched.
He offered that maybe someone had him confused with that lip syncing little gal Britney Spears or maybe that older woman Madonna.
Yazoo showed him a video that had been taken when he performed at The Carburetor Coliseum in Detroit which showed the words and his mouth not meshing.
Willie smiled and said that it was merely an optical illusion since the video had been shot while a strobe light was hitting him on stage making it seem like he was moving and singing in slow motion.
SIDENOTE: Buck Yazoo dismissed the lip syncing charge as being started by some jealous-as-hell Oklahoma Sooner.
