HACKENSACK, New Jersey - Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora left the band to deal with what he called very personal problems.
Jon Bon Jovi was asked to comment on Sambora's departure by Calcutta Cotton with Music Moments Magazine.
The New Jersey native simply stated that in his opinion Richie left the group to deal with his Gatorade addiction.
Bon Jovi noted that Sambora managed to keep it under wraps but recently he had found it harder and harder to do.
When Sambora was told about Bon Jovi's Gatorade comment he shook his head and remarked that Jon is lying and his ego is bigger than New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
Sambora stated that last November, Bon Jovi had promised that he would give him due credit as a band member by billing the band as Bon Jovi Featuring Richie Sambora.
Richie said that the singer later changed his mind and told him that he would give him a $40 per concert raise in lieu of the name change.
SIDENOTE: According to Music Moments Magazine, Jon Bon Jovi has stated that if Sambora does not return to the band by June 1, he will be permanently replaced by the guitarist for The Ovulating Camels of The Kalahari, Aloysius "Glitzy" Glitzenmeister.
