DUBLIN, Ireland - Kelly Clarkson performed before a sell out crowd at Dublin's O2 Arena.
After her concert she spoke backstage with a reporter for The Irish Eyes News Agency, Colleen Corkincannon.
Clarkson was asked what she thought about Ireland. She smiled and said that she loves the country and happily pointed out that she has been using Irish Spring Soap since she was in high school.
She also added that two of her all-time favorite songs are "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and "Liam The Little Lilting Leprechaun."
Miss Corkincannon told Kelly that she was going to have to ask her about the fact that she seems to have regained all of the weight that she lost back in June.
Kelly smiled, as she took a drink of her 16-ounce milk shake. She raised her eyebrows and replied, "Well Colleen, it is no secret that I have certainly packed on the pounds of late. And not only did I gain back the 30 pounds that I lost over the summer, I have also added on another 6 pounds as well."
Corkincannon blushed and told her that the weight gain has not affected her tremendous singing voice at all.
Kelly laughed and said that her problem is that her food ratio is kind of messed up.
"In what way?" Colleen asked.
And the happy-go-lucky songstress said that she finds that she is eating four parts junk food to one part health food.
The very first American Idol winner, who won the contest back in 2002, grinned and remarked that she recently received a letter from a Merletta Daphne Pellopuckle of Monkey's Eyebrow, Arizona.
Mrs. Pellopuckle told her that she has noticed that now that she has gained so much weight that her vocal cords have gotten bigger and she appears to be having a hard time hitting the high register notes as a result.
Kelly giggled and said that she figures that Mrs. Pellopuckle either drinks a lot, does some heavy drugs, or is just plain stupid.
The 30-year-old Texas native said that she has just released her latest single title "Catch My Breath."
She was quick to add that it is not to be confused with Weird Al Yankovic's novelty song "Catch My Breasts."
SIDENOTE: Kelly expressed to Miss Corkincannon that her and her boyfriend Brandon Blackstock get a kick out of her tattoos which change in design depending on her weight gain attributed to the ups and downs of her yo yo diet.
