That's not Lesley Sharp... and that's not Suranne Jones. Anyway, they're plain clothes.

As the popular detective series Scott & Bailey comes to the end of its latest run tonight, viewers around the country will be breathing a sigh of relief.

Tonight's episode sees Rachel (Suranne Jones) on the wrong side of the interviewing desk - with no idea what she's done as once again she has a hangover and grazed knuckles.

And boss Gill has apparently had enough of the friction between Janet (Lesley Sharp) and ex-fling Andy - we may see someone leaving the office, apparently.

But if it's Andy, can we also lose the other men in the detectives' lives, asks top TV critic Lizzie Celery.

"Those blokes are such tossers!" says Lizzie. "The boss's ex is a whiny, drunken git; the sergeant who fancies the Lesley Sharp one is a needy, whiny wanker; and that git who thinks the other one is just going to drop everything a marry him and look after his son is a smug, self-satisfied git.

"You've got a perfectly decent cop show about three female rozzers, but why do the blokes in all their lives have to be such see you next Tuesdays?

"Glad to see the back of 'em!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
