Now that Eddie Murphy has bowed out as the host for next year's Academy Awards telecast, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is again looking for someone who is able to deliver viewers to the most-boring Hollywood event of the year.
The show has been a series of missteps and blunders all along, according to inside sources. First the Academy Board had sought out Moammar Ghadafi figuring that his appearance with camels and virgins would set the TV world a-twitter. That backfired with his somewhat disgraceful discovery in a drainage ditch, his subsequent execution, and putrifying corpse.
Now, Murphy has departed.
According to anonymous sources, the Academy is taking a hard look at Silvio Berlusconi and Coach Joe Paterno -- since both will soon be out of a job.
