The real reason for David Cameron's visit to Angela Merkel has been revealed. There has been a secret agreement that Germany will join the Sterling Bloc.
Frau Merkel is reported to have said: "Ze Euro has got ze Swine Flu - Deutchland cannot support the PIGS for ever. We are going to join ze one country with whom we haf a long and historic relationship - Great Britain. Of course, like any marriage, there haf been a few fights, but we are all in the family - especially the Royal one."
Sterling notes issued in Germany will be exactly the same as those issued in the UK except that there has been one concession. On German notes the Queen's head will be replaced by Frau Merkel's head. In Germany the Pound will be known as Die Pfund.
