Fears over the safety of 600 call centre jobs at British Telecom appear to have been eased with management executives saying that an announcement will be put on hold.
"In recent times, BT has been forced to accept competition from other dreadful broadband providers so it's vital for the company to keep its dormant, sorry, dominant edge under current market conditions" said Chief Executive, Dave Lightrobbery.
Union officials had threatened industrial action over job losses but are now in talks with BT bosses who have promised that even if the cuts are made there will be 'absolutely no noticeable change in the level of customer service provided'.
