Senior Tipping Magazine recently had a Horror - story article about Tipping at food shops and doctors/dentists’ offices.
With computerization and Tablets. the bill is now on the Tablet - you thumbnail your signature - and are present with the tip - 25% and up. (Suggested) - while others are in line behind you waiting impatiently.
The shop owners (usually huge corporations) don't pay the minimum wage - shift the Cost of the employees Work on to you.
One woman executive rebelled and only tips in Cash. "I go out every day with about $100 in 5- and 10-dollar bills and use most of it. Coffee in the morning and at lunch the suggested Tip is the same as the item.
These are 'Economic Slave' employees - and governments doesn't watch out for these hard-working Taxpayers anymore. No mandated wage increases to keep up with Inflation.
Of course, the National government is always decrying the plight of the poor business owners and giving their huge Corporations tax Breaks and Subsidies. Poor Corporate businesses - they suffer.
(But always seem to have plenty of Cash for Politicians at Election Time.)
'Tip Creep' - is staring to go into other businesses. I have to tip at the doctors and dentists office to get in. They have cut their staff salaries also - and are going to Tips.
And the Doctors and Dentists have adopted some ideas from the Airlines.
If I arrive early and will pay an extra Fee - I can get into see the doctor early. Other not paying the Fee - wait.
It was promised that Computers would only do Good for us - not Eat us alive Financially.
