Editors of several spoof and satire news websites have angrily denied that they have "sold out" and will now allow corporate sponsorship of articles and submissions.

One editor, sipping a refreshing diet coke, which is low in calories yet still retains the full flavour of real coke, spoke out "To suggest that any editor would let product placement and sponsorship to influence which spoof news articles he or she publishes is just not true".

Wearing a 100% white cotton T-shirt with skull and crossbones print, available at Next and reasonably priced at $9.99 he continued "I doubt any editor would accept blatant advertising in an attempt to boost revenue at the degradation of the fake news we publish."

"When I drove to work today, in my BMW 530xi hatchback, with leather interior, full features - including GPS, which does a reasonable 32 mpg, after my regular hearty bowl of Kellogg's cornflakes that I had for breakfast, the last thing I was thinking about was having to deny blatant advertising, sponsorship, product placement and advertising on my site."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
