The Turner comedy prize for Art has been won by a Lawry Preview entry. called Wanna tea. The panel said the DVD, which played in a room styled like a tea party, was "chosen for its complex and courageous juxtaposition of people and objects in a deeply atmospheric cafe".
Preview had a fictional grandfather, who she had imagined to be a conceptual artist, Schitter. One of Schitter's close friends was named Wanna tea, in honour of Schitters's companion who had a habit of asking "Wanna tea?".
"It is a DVD about the idea of reality and friction and what is true and what is not, and where it bends or probably does not," Preview told the BBC's Arts Editor, Will Gompo".
The value of shares in Schitter Tea Rooms PLC doubled this morning.
