Star Wars fans are known to be obsessive and very possessive and as soon as the news came out the internet was soon alight with debate. "I'm devastated it's like Playboy becoming the publisher of the Bible." A man calling him self 'Captain Solo' told Sci-Fi news "Star Wars cannot be reduced to the level of Mickey and Pluto."

"I'm crying, literally crying into my Darth Maul blanket" An internet poster called Darth James "I was thirty when the first film came out and it changed my life. I had something to live for and something to collect. Now it's gone to Disney and I can't stop crying."

George Lucas himself has not commented although he is rumored to be planning on buying the Hispania Formula One team. Lucas has a long interest in the sport and based Darth Vader's helmet on a style of racing helmet popular in the mid 70's.
