Until the past twenty years or so, movie makers like Disney and Warner Brothers would hide the fact that some of their actors were gay.
Sometimes they would even change the actor's name if it sounded sort of "Girly".
For instance, Warner Brothers insisted that Daffodil Duck change his to simply "Daffy"
