If you want a mash-up of a Stephen King novel and a Steven Spielberg movie, this is your movie. It advertises as a sci-fi, but it’s really a horror movie with an incredulous plot involving a parcel of suburbia that is plopped into the Jurassic Age by a wormhole caused by a disturbance in a star system. Mass predation ensues. Again, mostly it’s a horror movie, with more dino chase scenes than Jurassic Park and all its sequels.
It’s a “sci-fi” movie with heart, though not much in the way of ideas—like I thought sci-fi was supposed to do. The ending is a bit drawn out—Spielbergian, one might say.
