A little known fact about the original Star Trek crew is that everyone on board were scared to death of Scotty, not Captain Kirk or Mr. Spock. Oh, they knew Kirk or Spock could kick you off the Enterprise, but the idea that Scotty could beam all or only a part of you to other parts of the universe, frightened them to death.
