A grandmother was calling her granddaughter.
"Karen!" she said when the granddaughter answered. "I heard the news! You're a mother now! Why have you not told me?"
"What are you talking about?" Karen asked.
"I just spoke to your mother!" the grandmother replied.
"She told me!"
"She told you?" Karen asked.
Karen then realized what her grandmother was getting at. "Oh, I know what you're talking about," she said. "No, I'm not a mother. I was just commenting on how every time we visit you, you greet us with warm smiles and hugs, you have trays of snacks out, you play games with us, tell us stories about your youth and then you serve us an elaborate dinner. I was basically saying you're a great grandmother!"
